When I first heard about THINX, the brand making underwear that could potentially replace my tampons and pads, I was really excited. I've been a tampon girl for almost the entire life of my period, but lately after learning more about the health concerns around tampons, I've been looking for safer alternatives.
Rose water is something that I've added to my every day beauty routine recently and it has really changed things for my skin. When I buy new products I tend to go overboard with the research beforehand. I just want to get the best bang for my buck you know, and water infused with rose petals seemed like it could be one of those money wasters. But it wasn't because rose water has so many different uses and benefits.
Remember when I said I was going on a trip and I was worried about the weather but excited about my light suitcase? Well that happened this past week, we arrived back in Wellington last night after a quick five-day road trip of the South Island. There will be more coming on this as soon as I get through my one million and one photos. I also filmed a lot of it, so let me know if you want to see that as well!
If you haven't read any of my previous posts, I have been participating in a fundraiser called the Six Items Challenge which is designed to challenge our reliance on fast fashion. It has been one week since I started and it really hasn’t been as hard as I was anticipating, I’ve actually been quite enjoying it. I know, it’s only been one week and I may not be saying this at the end of six. But it has been quite interesting trying to think of different ways that I can wear the same pieces.
I don't think Matt and I have ever bought each other gifts on Valentine's Day. We normally just make it a date night; dinner and a movie type of thing. This year we won't be doing that because we are saving our money for a trip we are going on a few days later. So instead, what better way than to spend the night eating these Chocolate Peppermint Patties and watching Vikings (our latest TV obsession).
Living in New Zealand is dangerous. Not because the amount of humans is heavily outweighed by the amount of sheep; Maybe because of the amount of mince pies and tomato sauce we eat; But really because there is a giant hole in the ozone layer looming directly above us. If that doesn't scream melanoma, I don't know what does.
We made a spontaneous trip to Auckland and back on Saturday to pick up a new car. We flew up in the morning and drove back in the afternoon. It was weird to be on almost opposite ends of the North Island throughout the day, it was quite tiring actually. But the 8 hour drive back to Wellington didn't really bother me. Don't get me wrong, by the time it hit 6pm I was well and truly ready to be back at home.
